The Malian kora master returns with a new album of exquisite acoustic solo beauty with a title that translates as “now is the moment”. These eight instrumental pieces were recorded in the intimate confines of the Chapelle Sainte-Apolline in Belgium. A gorgeous delight from start to finish, evoking a narrative that touches on the sacred, the serene and the meditative, uplands as well as plains criss-crossed by Manding warriors of his homeland. After his wonderful collaborations with the likes of Salif Keita, Nouvelle Vague's Camille and Vincent Segal, this pure release of his unaccompanied work, serves as a lovely companion piece. Below is also a video of him playing first track Nan Sira Madi. Out Parisian label Nø Førmat! See also his previous, more collaborative album Djourou, released in April this year.
