Mischievous fun by the Austin, Texas experimental indie and art-rock band of songwriters Falcon Bitch and Gumball, packed with fantasy, satirical settings in this debut full LP. It includes a variety of scenarios, such as a hippie cult that worships trees in Treeland, or a languid suburban satire in Misery Lane, an acid trip in Daydream, and Byrds-style throwback Great American Picnic is a kind of slap-in-the-face Western call-to-arms. Muriel’s Big Day Off (echoing the cult 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off) tells of a character called Muriel and her best friend Friedrick, who spend their day doing exactly what they want: stomping around town, drinking tea, and shoplifting, and is another number inspired by an acid trip. But it’s not all fun, and frolic - Last Living Buffalo is a catchy lament to the hunted beast, climaxing in noise rock. An album packed with great ideas, great tunes and even a band theme tune We Are Being Dead. Out on Bayonet Records.
