The eclectic London band of abundant upbringings and influences from Bahrain to Dubai, Albania, Italy and Saudi Arabia return with a heady, upbeat mix of Afro-electro synth pop, krautrock, funk, disco and alt-rock psychedelia. This feels like one of their most danceable albums to date, with real momentum spanning the first seven tracks opening with Dreams (On The Strip) including up to the frenzied Volta Rocket, withe other standouts including the Kasabian-ish The Dip, the Arabian-psych style of Dirty Money, and Gutterball, which runs comparisons with excellent contemporaries Snapped Ankles, while another single, Tall Glass, is strong, slower synth funk. Particularly enjoyable live, they’re a dynamic band still oozing inventive ideas and dynamic sounds. Out on The Liquid Label.
