Ty Segall – Freedom's Goblin
There's no end to this man's creative output and previous albums have showcased Segall's range from raucous to reflective. Here goal is getting free, embracing any approach necessary to communicate: octave-leaping harmonies, dancefloor grooves, synths, saxes and horns, jams, post–Nicky–Hopkins R’n’B electric piano vibes, children–of–the–corn psycho–rebellions, old country waltzes and down–by–the–river shuffles.

Moon Duo – Jukebox Babe/No Fun
Two track rush–release from the Occult Architects features neat covers of the Alan Vega and Stooges classics – the slapback echo on the vocal is reminiscent of Arcade Fire!

Nils Frahm – All Melody
Erased Tapes favourite Frahm has spent the last couple of years building a brand new studio in Berlin and here's the first fruits of his labour. Unlike some of his previous story–driven albums, the twelve tracks of All Melody are a languid exploration of the freedom of his new surroundings.

Calexico – The Thread That Keeps Us
This ninth studio album from Calexico was recorded on the Northern California coast in a home–turned–studio called the Panoramic House. Built from debris and shipyard–salvaged timber – and dubbed “The Phantom Ship” by the band – the grandiose house and its edge–of–the–world–like ambience soon made their way into the songs, somewhere between a dream state and a nightmare.

Nightmares On Wax – Shape The Future
Long-awaited return for the Warp mainstays who have been globetrotting to reinvigorate their blend of soul, hip–hop, dub and timeless club sounds, all with a little help from Mozez, Kanye West and Flume collaborator Allan Kingdom.

The Limiñanas – Shadow People
The fifth studio album from the long-running pair from Perpignan, with a work produced in Berlin and featuring Anton Newcombe from The Brian Jonestown Massacre, with a sound that reminds of many influences from the Velvet Underground, to Billy Childish, garage rock and krautrock, the Cramps, Serge Gainsbourg and Nick Cave.

Django Django – Marble Skies
Last but by no means least, after their 2015 Top 20 smash Born Under Saturn, Django Django are back with an album of krautrock–inspired dance rock with a few rave thrills thrown in for good measure. There's also a dream–pop collaboration with Slow Club's Rebecca Taylor on the dancehall–influenced Surface To Air.
