Yo Yo Ma/Chris Thile/Edgar Meyer – Bach Trios
This week we start with a less than conventional take on Bach by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, mandolinist Chris Thile, and bassist Edgar Meyer. The mandolin works especially well on this piece:

Joe Goddard – Electric Lines
The irrepressible Hot Chip and 2 Bears cohort is back with more electropop and cultured dancefloor-fillers. The album title was apparently inspired by the colour-coded cables that link the modules in his Eurorack synth and by the common strands between all the different kinds of electronic music that he loves.
Joe Goddard – Music Is The Answer
The Black Angels – Death Song
Written and recorded in large part during the recent US elections, the music on Death Song serves as part-protest, part-emotional catharsis to a result that has divided opinion. There's also a glow-in-the-dark vinyl version out for Record Store Day this Saturday!

Maximo Park – Risk To Exist
Paul Smith and co's new album was recorded at Wilco's Chicago studio and the change of scene has suited them well if the vibrant title track is anything to go by. Low's Mimi Parker contributes vocals on five tracks.

This week's selection is by Michael Moloney, aka llamalpaca from the vinyl-only record and design store, Chameleon, with additions by The Landlord.
