Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – The Tourist
Indie-rock songwriter Alec Ounsworth returns with the follow-up to 2014’s Only Run. Musically, the album is said to be a “nod” to Ounsworth’s inspirations, such as Tom Waits, Nick Cave, and Paul Simon and features keyboard-laden cuts alongside more folk-based numbers.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Better Off
Blanck Mass – World Eater
Benjamin John Power of Fuck Buttons' Blanck Mass project is back with another propulsive set of electronica, elaborating upon the sound of 2015’s excellent Dumb Flesh album. Check out D7-D5 - if you're fillings are up to it.
Blanck Mass – Silent Treatment
Sleaford Mods – English Tapas
After the blistering put-down of politicians of every hue on Austerity Dogs, one would presume that the humorous potty-mouthed duo would have no shortage of inspiration. The Sir Dodgy-baiting put-down of BHS was played for laughs but let's hope for a Brexit-themed state of the nation address.
Sleaford Mods – BHS
Temples – Volcano
Once you get over the cover artwork, Temples follow up Sun Structures has a lot to recommend it in the way of radio-friendly psychedelia. Vocally, James Bagshaw recalls Jonathan Donahue's (Mercury Rev) fragile falsetto.
Temples – Certainty
FKA Twigs – EP1
FKA twigs re-issues her debut release, ‘EP1’. Originally released in December 2012, the incredibly rare EP was previously only available as a (long sold out) limited edition vinyl release, accompanied by a video for each song created by FKA twigs and Grace Ladoja.
FKA Twigs – Weak Spot
This week's selection is by Michael Moloney, aka llamalpaca from the vinyl-only record and design store, Chameleon, with additions by The Landlord.
