Excellent, energised, pace-changing, dynamic indie debut LP by the Anglo-South East Asian, Liverpool-formed trio who also have a heady mix of British, Midwest and New York flavours, from The Lemonheads, to Blur, Red Hot Chilli Peppers to The Strokes. There are many sounds reminiscent of the 1990s and early 2000s, but their playing is so tight, slick and the riffs and melodies so toe-tappingly catchy, it feels entirely fresh. Many standouts include Don’t Ask, Focus, Operator, Slow Slug, Hesitated So Complicated, the slower, grungier 5th September, and the crisp, clean beats of the aptly named Pretty Slick. Self-released.
