Ian Parton’s Brighton band return, in their follow-up to 2021’s Part One, with a truly joyous, upbeat and vibrantly colourful, wham-bam wonder tour of worldwide cultural vocals and samples ranging from Benin to Japan, France, India, Texas and Detroit, with songs reminiscent of everything from Jackson 5 to New York late-80s hip hop, chroma key sitar psychedelia, Casiotone anthems, spoken word melodrama and kalimba callouts. Guest vocalists include Star Feminine Band, an all-girl group from West Africa, the Indian Bollywood playback singer Neha Hatwar, Kokubo Chisato from J-Pop indie band Lucie Too, 19-year-old Detroit rapper IndigoYaj, Hilarie Bratset (ex-Apples in Stereo), and Brooklyn rapper Nitty Scott. It’s non-stop party in 12 songs, and highlights include opener Look Away, Look Away, then Divebomb, Stay And Ask Me In A Different Way, former Song of the Day Whammy-O, Gemini, the gradually speeding up brass riffing The Train Song. Something to put a spring in your step. Out on Memphis Industries/ Man Mountain Music Ltd.
