After 2021’s chart-topping How Beautiful Life Can Be, the fresh-faced Wigan indie quartet fronted by singer/songwriter and guitarist Alex Moore build on they unpretentious, uplifting, honest, catchy, and wistful numbers. There’s something comfortingly old-fashioned about their straight-up unpretentious, with for example, Lucky Bean or Rise and Fall echoing the early, chirpier sounds Smiths and The Housemartins, or the emotional yearning of Maxïmo Park or Arctic Monkeys Opening track Struggle and Say My Name are immediate standouts with Moore’s high, emotional tenor, to the slower Land And Sky, and epic closing track Undeserving. Out on Universal / Island.
