This week the Bar feels like the King’s Cross Station left luggage office after the weekend. It was an exceptionally glorious bank holiday though a quiet one; even the new Song Bar patented i-cooly sac only tempted a few patrons into the beer garden.
Set That Baggage Down and take a look at the diverse selection of sacks, bags, suitcases, trunks and even Heart Shaped Boxes that have been left here over the weekend.
Quite a few tabs have been left unpaid so a piece of advice for the next barkeep: First I Look At The Purse that’s the way to tell if they’ve got the pretty green cash to pay their round.
Not sure what’s going on with the fashion these days if you open up my Trunk Box you’ll find multi-coloured garments to wear. These days it’s all Handbags and Gladrags – even that Rod Stewart was in wearing tartan trews!
A delivery came in on Friday, a beautiful Basket of Flowers. The card said our thanks to treefrogdemon for last week’s stint behind the bar – that’s a nice touch.
Does anyone know whose Brown Paper Bag has been left here? It seems someone’s been bringing their own booze in ‘cause there’s a bottle of drink in it. James Brown is it yours? “No, I Got A Bag of My Own!”
According to mythology Pandora’s Box contained sickness, death and many unspecified evils probably don’t want to be Living In A Box like that!
There are multiple, far more interesting items In My Box according to Fairfield Parlour – among the long list are bicycles, bells, buses, trams even an old oak tree. It must be a pretty big box unless it has an undetectable extension charm like Hermione Granger’s small purple beaded handbag?
It certainly sounds too big to go Under My Bed, which is the place to put a box with pictures you posed for, according to Meiko.
What’s going on down the other end of the bar? There seems to be an irate stranger.
“Now what can I get you?”
“Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please.” (see below).
