Currently on tour themselves with their spectacular 3D show, there could hardly be a more appropriate day to make this our song of choice for one of the most influential bands of all time. Not only is the Tour De France 2017 beginning today with its prologue time-trial stage, but unusually, it is setting off in Düsseldorf, the city where Kraftwerk first began in 1969. Original members Florian Schneider and Ralph Hütter in particular (the only remaining now) are obsessed with cycling, and are avid followers of the Tour. Their clean sound, celebrating the simplicity of man and machine in perfect harmony, is perfectly illustrated in this song originally released in 1983, but then re-released with the album of 2003, their last set of original songs.
