Inventive, inspiring, charmingly oddball new work by the British singer-songwriter and producer from his new EP, Wild Wet World, here the first of seven songs using a liquidity of samples of marine wildlife sounds. Across the EP these include recordings of bearded seals, Weddell seals, Norwegian haddock, long horned Sculpin, oyster toad fish, buck-toothed parrot fish, black drum fish, file fish, cow fish, smooth puffer fish, humpback whales, blue whales, and sounds of a degraded coral reef off Lizard Island, Australia. The rest of the EP is also shown below, and more by Cosmo can be found on other embedded links below. Out on Tardigrade Records.
Closed my eyes
Went to sleep
And drifted downwards
I dreamt of whales floating there
All bathed in sound
All wrapped in plankton
And glinting green
Drifting onwards
Through shifting seas
Closed my eyes
Went to sleep
And drifted downwards
I dreamed of whales
Floating there
All bathed in sound
All wrapped in plankton
And floating round us
Alive with purpose
And with a will
Oh the wonder of that wild wet world
Of that wild wet world beneath
Oh the wonder of that wild wet world
Of that wild wet world beneath
