Basildon’s finest return with one of their best songs for years, the veterans’ newest noir electro-pop number filled with bittersweet melancholy, especially poignant after the sudden passing of bandmate Andy “Fletch” Fletcher in 2022. The track comes from the forthcoming new album Memento Mori, in late March. Out on Venusnote / Columbia Records. The video, created by longtime collaborator and film director Anton Corbijn, appears to be inspired by the film 1957 Ingmar Bergman film, The Seventh Seal in which the Knight and Death characters play chess (see clip below). To enjoy more of the Dave Gahan, Martyn Gore and co’s work, see also the other embedded links below. Out on Venusnote/ Columbia.
Wasted feelings
Broken meanings
Time is fleeting
See what it brings
Hellos, goodbyes, a thousand midnights
Lost in sleepless lullabies
Heaven's dreaming
Thoughtless thoughts, my friends
We know we'll be ghosts again
Sundays shining
Silver linings
Weightless hours
All my flowers
A place to hide the tears that you cried
Everybody says goodbye
Faith is sleeping
Lovers in the end
Whisper we'll be ghosts again
Heaven's dreaming
Thoughtless thoughts, my friends
We know we'll be ghosts again
Faith is sleeping
Lovers in the end
Whisper we'll be ghosts again
