The collective from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, return with a vibrant, upbeat, infectious, rhythmic punk-Afro-futuristic track with a title that translates as “pain and pleasure”. Fulu Miziki meanwhile translates as “music from the garbage” pertaining to their inventive upcycled, handmade instruments, such as guembris built out of computer casing, to jerry-can drum-kits, keyboard inventions from wood, springs and aluminium pipes, and old flip-flops used as pads by plastic tube-wielding percussion players, fitting in with their positive environmental activism.
