“Food. Shelter. Find a mate. Danger.” Brilliantly snappy, dynamic dance-electronica with a dash of Goldfrapp in this superb collaboration between the soaring-voiced south London singer and the Los Angeles composer and producer.
“All I need is a dancing partner...”
This Singles Club Vol. 8 release also comes with a B-side, Finish Line, and Jessica explains: “We made these songs in Jonathan’s studio on a short stay in Los Angeles. His studio is wall-to-wall modular synth and analog drum machines. I’d come straight from a party in downtown where most people were on crystal meth, and so I was inspired by this new culture I’d stumbled upon. Thinking about the basic needs of life and what things reduce to, ultimately.”
Out on Sub Pop Records. To explore and enjoy by both artists, see also the other embedded links below, as well as Jessica’s website here, and Jonathan’s here.
