From yesterday’s electronica to today’s acoustic piano, but with a difference - wonderfully innovative, dynamic single instrument work by the British experimental composer’s use of the Yamaha U3 Disklavier, played via computer MIDI programming and other analogue techniques, such as using screws and gaffer tape on the strings, to playing the body of the instrument percussively, to processing the sounds with distortion effects and rich delays and reverbs. This track is taken from his recent album Extensions (Music For Computer Controlled Piano), out on Tip Top Recordings.
