From her 2020 album, Acoustic, a beautiful rendition of an earlier song by the Malian artist also known as the Songbird of Wassoulou, with a voice loved around the world, with Beyoncé among her fans. Acoustic is is a reworking from her 2017 album Mogoya, with new intimacy and traditional instruments. Players are Guimba Kouyaté on acoustic guitar, Benogo Diakité on the harp-oud instrument, the kamele n’gon, Emma Lamadji, and Kandy Guira on backing vocals, and Vincent Taurelle on celesta and organ. Many of Sangaré’s songs focus on female struggles, including domestic violence.
