Following yesterday’s electricity-themed SOTD, the latest bright-spark history-inspired release by the British band of Willgoose, Wrigglesworth and co comes from the plane name of pioneering pilot Amelia Earhart, and heralds their new album The Last Flight, out via So Recordings on 4 October.
The album centres around Earhart’s famous round-the-world journey in 1937 that ended in her disappearance. The band explain that: “The song is about Amelia Earhart’s plane, the marvellously named Electra. To match the name, the vibrancy and the excitement of the aircraft, the track is full of pulsing electronics and interlocking, percussive melody lines, plus pace.”
