Continuing our an ongoing them about standing, a different and current take, all about being stood up by a date – on a weekday evening (outrageous!), and not wanting to wait until Friday. Upbeat but humorously dark, and not short of passion, this wonderfully catchy indie pop number is by the tall, elegant Australian Perth-born identical sisters Catherine and Susan, backed by violinist Diarmuid and drummer Doug Fink, formerly of Noah And The Whale. The band are based in London and have already released plenty of material, with twisted romance something of a recurring theme. The twins are heavily influenced by English artists from Kate Bush to Pulp, but there are echoes also of Franz Ferdinand and Sparks. As it happens, everyone is having to wait until the Friday date, as this new single out today, and a new album, Let's Go Out, is due for release in early 2018. More information is here.
