A brilliantly angular, experimental, partly instrumental prog-post-punk and jazz sophomore release by the Belfast quartet of riveting cross-rhythms, innovative guitar and bass work creating an oddball but ornate aural tapestry. Immediate standouts include the stormily dark and anarchic opener Otic Brawl, the crafted, building, catchy and cleverly changing grooves of I Wanna Be Your Da, plus also the the statically restless Carpet Man or Reimer, Orunge and the 9-minute epic, slow-building closer Saint of Florists. But this album unleashes some truly strange, experimental material, such as the bizarre, rattling, clattering, clanging and mumbling Poor Eddie Ombrophobe, or Eight Acres. Daringly different, skilfully executed by excellent musicians. Self-released.
