A welcome return from the legendary Jamaican reggae artist, now 71, with one of its most distinctive voices, here joined by dub pioneer and producer Adrian Sherwood with 10 new recordings of new and reworked classics. The title comes from the first line of the Massive Attack’s Safe From Harm, on which he famously sang, and here reworked with a more reggae groove. The album draws works from across his career since he first worked with Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, and like the more recent releases of Perry, this also feels like another late-career classic. Other standouts include reworkings of 1978’s This Must Be Hell and Mr Bassie, plus Easy Money, Materialist, as well as newer tracks Watch Over Them and Try Love. A timeless sound combined with that expressive vocal delivery of heavy vibrato falsetto, making for a more than solid return. Out on On-U Sound.
