Powerful indeed, in voice and message, on the political, social and personal, and after five or more years of singles and EPs, the debut LP by the British singer-songwriter who fuses soul, dubstep, jazz and pop. Standouts include the feminist track PLAYGOD, which was a previous Song of the Day, London’s Burning, which indirectly examines the damage and division of Brexit, Fall Together, in which her voice soars with tremendous power, range and beauty, and Demons – a tender number addressing mental health issues. An artist blossoming in many ways, with plenty to say. See also her website.
