A fourth album by the Guernsey-born electronic and dance music producer Alex Crossan, now on his own label, Pond, is a cleverly experimental, sweaty underground feel mix of oddball beats, sounds and voices, with a variety of guest including Singaporean artist Yeule. That particularly standout track, We Are Making Out, intimately details necking moments on various places of London Transport to capture the feel of a wonky wild night out. The album is packed with rhythmic, sampled strangeness, voices used as drumbeats, such as on opener Whenever I Want to Gimme, or the clippy-cloppy Giddyup, to the the catchy R&B closer Fly, featuring Cherish. The art of repetition comes to fore in this niche, party mild-altering, stylishly cool release. Out on Pond.
