Shame – Songs of Praise
Debut album of angry, fresh post-punk from the five-piece of 20- and 21-year-olds who used to practice at the old Queen’s Head pub in Brixton. London’s answer to Manchester’s Cabbage, but perhaps less humorous and more full of bile, they are nevertheless a powerful new force on the scene, still grounded very self-aware and spearheaded by singer Charlie Steen, who has a jerky, leering presence on stage that really is something to see.

Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein - Stranger Things Season 2
Original music from the hit TV series (not to be confused with the 80s classics that pepper the show - these are getting a separate release). There's a limited crystal clear vinyl with blue & white splatter version for the enthusiasts! Some cues offer the inevitable comparison with John Carpenter but there's much to enjoy.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Wrong Creatures
BMRC's new album is the expected filthy, no holds barred detuned rock but this time there's more than a hint of stadium rock sensibility about the rolling riffs and dirge-laden rhythms .

Jack White – Connected By Love
First single from White's much-anticipated third solo album Boarding House Reach has attracted some lukewarm press, but perhaps that's because it's simply different to his previous work. The studio band includes drummer Louis Cato (Beyoncé/Q-Tip/John Legend), bassist Charlotte Kemp Muhl (The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger), keyboardist Neal Evans (Soulive/Talib Kweli/John Scofield), and percussionist Bobby Allende (David Byrne), and along with backing vocalists Ann and Regina McCrary of gospel trio The McCrary Sisters.

Panda Bear - A Day With The Homies
This 12-inch limited release for this five-track EP is the first new material in a couple of years from the Animal Collective stalwart Noah Lennox. Expect deadpan humour and more, but if you want to hear it you're just going to have to buy the physical release! Fair enough.
This week's selection is by Michael Moloney, aka llamalpaca from the vinyl-only record and design store, Chameleon, with new release additions by The Landlord.
