The east London punk-folk band’s latest, more of an EP, brings wonderfully fresh new arrangements of past releases with a vibrant live take, recorded at the renowned Eastcote Studios. Featuring Siân Monaghan on drums, George Hoyle on bass, along with Ian Carter’s trademark Dobro and electric guitars, and Nicola Kearey’s distinctive vocals, it’s a joyful, edgy and earthy from first to last, with all six tracks cracking with energy, from Bedlam to the fast-paced White Copper Alley, the slower but darkly dry, humorous and powerful Robot, through to Gold Through Red, threading the past right into the present with poetic originality, energy, charisma and craft. Out on From Here Records.
