Songs to start the morning comes in two parts.
Morning Songs Part 1:
First, the joy and dread associated with dawn. The excitement and anxiety of a new day. Will the day bring fun, misery or just more of the same?
When waking from sleep and dreams, familiar routines and sounds help us cope with the coming day’s unpredictability.
The playlist is a collection of well-known pop songs and gentle tunes that reference the morning and remind me of special mornings in my past. They make me think of good and bad morning memories. A big thank you to the Song Bar community for suggesting them.
The playlist for songs that help you get out of bed in the morning follows below in Part 2.

Morning Songs Part 2:
The songs we play to start our day often feature the morning in their musical or lyrical theme. However, I was interested in those songs we use to start our days.
Please also read the recommendations blog to find out why the following songs were suggested for morning listening. In fact, the blog contains better and more focused playlists than the one below.
The recommendations engagingly tell of waking from dreams, wanting to go back to sleep, morning rituals associated with making breakfast, sitting in the quiet and remembering, gathering thoughts, expending energy, the morning commute, being with the family, loving and making love.
I chose some songs that I love and some that reflect the community, but the playlist could have lasted well into the next evening
The playlist starts with a song I’ve selected because it reminds me of waking up to the piles of smiles of my children and how I used to hold them and dance in the morning.
For me Hüsker Dü’s Makes No Sense At All is a perfect self-criticising yet motivational morning song. But I realise that’s too loud and too much adrenaline for most of you, so we open with Sparklehorse.
