Delicate, atmospheric, ghostly, rather beautiful pop with a melancholy, dark humour, this new single via solo project moniker of Canada's Christopher Smith comes from the new album Love Writes Itself.
Recorded in Vancouver, and working with long-time collaborators Shaunn Watt, William Kendrick and Peter Carruthers as well as additional musicians, this is a further extension of Smith's solo work, and after the 2015 debut Shock, the result is a smoother, more mature, understated but complex mixture of orchestral sounds and woodwinds alongside neatly blended bass lines and drums, all perfectly paced and matching Smith's gentle, tenor voice, here singing about the vulnerability of new-found love. There is something of a plant theme running through the album.
The album is out on Boompa Productions, and Dralms is also a Full Time Hobby label artist.
More Dralms work can be found on Soundcloud.
