Terrifically catchy electronica indie with a big rock guitar chorus and deadpan delivery by the quintet from Hull, sounding like a fusion of The Pixies and The Human League, carrying that bright torch of Yorkshire-born pop music. This upbeat song has downbeat subject – about someone with a dysfunctional, duplicitous, apparently pointless life of lying, shopping, working, cheating, grasping for meaning. They also have a new single out - Picture Bliss.
The band, with several connections to Hull’s Le Bête Blooms, comprises guitarist and singer Dan Mawer, guitarist John Copley, bassist Jack Gallagher, keyboardist and guitarist Stephanie Hebdon, and vocalist/guitarist Aimee Duncan. Out on the Leeds-based label Dance to the Radio. More of their work can be found here.
