Dark, stirring, powerful, this scintillating, extraordinary new single by the New York multi-instrumentalist, composer and singer has rumbling bassline, a sleazy dirty sax sound, crystalline key stabs and jagged guitar lines, and heralds a new album out in 2025. It’s also her first release on Fire Records.
Angel Deradoorian describes the track as “a conglomeration of broken imagery of a deserted world. Ideas surrounding genocide and the regeneration of the survivors. A survivor of [the Armenian] genocide, I am the daughter of the only son of the only surviving grandfather. The song touches on the power of belief. Looking toward someone or something higher than ourselves to keep hope alive amongst decay.”
