Following last year’s excellent debut album Attachment Styles, a visceral, intense single by the feminist postpunk Dublin band, about the traumatic experience of being followed home. It heralds their forthcoming second album. The band are now Jamie Hyland, Zoë Greenway, Sean Nolan, and lyricist Constance Keane, the latter taking over lead vocals from Róisín Nic Ghearailt who has left citing health reasons. Released on TULLE/Merge Records. To explore and enjoy more by M(h)aol, see also the other embedded links below.
Keys clutched in my hand
If I stand up straight will you think I’m a man?
Criss-cross the path ahead
If I run really fast will I make it to my bed?
I thought about it all
I thought the shoes I’m wearing would help me run away from you
Who are you anyway?
Is it you?
Is it you?
Is it you?
Is it you?
Is it you?
Keys clutched in my hand
Speed the pace as the path beneath me turns to quicksand
Glance back to speed ahead
If I trip and I fall, am I facing my own end?
I thought about it all
I though the shoes I’m wearing would help me run away from you
Who are you anyway?
Is it you?
Is it you?
Is it you?
Is it you?
Is it you?
