Dynamic volume changes and explosive sounds traverse from classical to dark metal in these extraordinary genre-defying instrumental pieces inspired by the history of colonisation by the Melbourne-based duo from their album Gas Lit. Impassioned and summoning strings, woodwind, guitars, drums and much more, Gas Light is inspired by the injustices of dark colonial pasts that still reach into the injustices of the present. Divide and Dissolve are Takiaya Reed , whose heritage is black & Tsalagi [Cherokee), and Sylvie Nehill who is Māori. Gas Light is inspired by the fight for Indigenous and black sovereignty, and the return of stolen land. The video for We Are Really Worried About you is filmed on sacred Huichin Chochenyo Ohlone Territory of North California. More about Divide and Dissolve can be found on their website, as well as they Bandcamp page, from which the link below can be played the entire album. Out on Invada Records.
