A frenetic, eclectic, mischievously ironic and culture-bashing collaboration between iconoclastic Brooklyn rapper Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks, and his Detroit counterpart Daniel Dewan Sewell in a crazed mish-mash of samples, voices and rhythmic restlessness. It’s a bewildering, but at times brilliant listen, packed with wit, drug references, rage and silliness, a parody of misogyny, sanctimoniousness and more, with a fierce energy, angular guitar riffs, thunderous, crashing drums and vocal dexterity, the duo’s distinctive voices (low versus high/nasal) in turn tag-team wrestle to a constant onslaught of speed-of-light ideas. Standouts include Fentanyl Tester, which samples Milkshake, the ironic title track, Lean Beef Patty (“First, fuck you, Elon Musk…”), Steppa Pig, Burflict!, Jack Harlow Combo Meal and short number Run The Jewels, no doubt a tribute to that outstanding New York rap duo.
