A beautiful, uplifting third album of life-affirming tranquility by French psych-pop artist Melody Prochet, reflecting her move from Paris to the Alps, and the birth of her daughter, with a host of shimmering, dreamlike sounds. Prochet has underwent a very serious accident that left her with a brain aneurysm and broken vertebrae, so it is particularly joyous to see her back, and perhaps the mood is best summed up in A Slow Dawning of Peace with the line: “There’s still something to live for; love is all around.” Other standouts include Looking Backward (a previous Song of the Day), the title track, Where The Water Clears The Illusion, Alma, and Pyramids In The Clouds. Out on Domino.
