Beautiful retro 70s-style Laurel Canyon folk and Americana by the band formed by South California’s Ben Schwab of Drugdealer and Golden Daze, inspired by finding lost tapes of his father John’s 1970s group Mad Anthony. These seven songs do really feel like travelling back to another era, with lush vocal harmonies, steel pedal guitar and lovely soft melodies that trip comfortably along at a gentle pace. Serene, slow, and an instant relief from life’s stress, standouts include the opener Falls On Me, and Further Down the Road both with vocalist Marina Allen, 50/50 which begins with an old recording of John talking about his demos on floppy discs, Sylvie, and former Song of the Day Stealing Time, both of which feature vocals by Sam Burton. Gorgeous. Out on Full Time Hobby.
