Inspired by the cycles and patterns of urban nature and our place within it, this gorgeously unfolding piece by sound artist and musician Ben Kelly from Southend on Sea features spoken word, crisp acoustic guitar, gentle synths and beautifully developing percussion. It comes from the album °s, which features four songs with co-ordinates for titles. The music involves improvisations applying the fibonacci sequence (each number is the sum of the two preceding ones) to create melodies and rhythms that mimic fractal patterns in nature, and are situated within binaural field recordings captured during essential travel in the first Covid-19 lockdown. Out on AD 93. To explore more work by Aboutface visit the Bandcamp page or the rest of the album embedded below or the Aboutface website.
