An entrancing, experimental hybrid of spoken word and electronica by the Taiwanese rapper Pan Wei Ju, with a song about strength in vulnerability in the form of “a monologue of a young and not so experienced witch, who doesn’t always do all her magic and alchemy right.” The track is taken from their forthcoming new album, Pan The Pansexual, out 12 July on Transgressive Records.
PAN explains further that the witch, “longing for love, practises expressing her fear and needs through poetry, eventually turning it into spells. The bright and catchy sounds float around and lift up the message, uniting any listening soul into a groovy unity.”
The album includes production from Clams Casino and Bon Music Vision (Kojey Radical, Lucinda Chau, Tsunaina, Gaika), with David Wrench (Sampha, FKA Twigs, The xx) mixing.
