The 23-year-old English singer-songwriter and BRIT school graduate’s second LP after 2019’s debut is a strong selection of numbers influenced by Americana and more from Fleetwood Mac to PJ Harvey, Blur to various shades of country rock. Underpinned by acoustic guitar and her swooning, sliding voice, the album seems to get better as it progresses, with standouts including Now Is The Time, Candidate and Prototype. Honeymoon has more of a 70s English rock-stomp underneath her high voice, while Punchline leans towards Nashville as well as that Stevie Nicks / Christine McVie feel. Open Up The Heavens has a rockier English 90s indie influence. The title track, meanwhile is a intimate but slowly building number with this reflective image: “Who's gonna make you feel storms and thunder? Who's gonna bring you to life? Who's gonna make you feel beautiful / Under different kinds of light?” Out on Glassnote Music.
