The Doors – London Fog
Before The Doors took the music scene by storm in 1967, they were the house band at the London Fog – a Sunset Strip dive bar located just footsteps away from the world famous Whisky a Go Go. This recently discovered seven-track 1966 audience recording has been padded out to create a box set (!) – alas no preview clips are available and it will be an expensive addition to the collection of any Doors fan. But to get you in the mood here's a 1966 version of Indian Summer:
Bohren & der Club of Gore – Black Earth
The name of the band belies their roots as a Death Metal band but this reissue of their 2002 album has a jazz-inflected sinister soundtrack quality.

Mr B. The Gentleman Rhymer – There’s a Rumpus Going On
The purveyor and pioneer of chap-hop – hip-hop in the manner of grammatically correct English, returns with his seventh album of sharp-witted parody, 14 tracks infused with tongue-twisting language, musical jappery and genuine love for the genre. This one includes an unfortunate, or fortunate (depending on your perspective) tongue-in-cheek critique of Kanye West, a review of drug retail, and a tribute to the National Trust.

Bat For Lashes – If I Knew/In Your Bed
When was the last time you saw a double-A side single release? Here's a limited 7" from Natasha Khan with two tracks drawn her recent wedding tragedy concept album The Bride.
Bat For Lashes – If I Knew
Gold Panda - Good Times
A three-track 12" remix set from the electronic performer, producer and composer which you can buy from Bleep.
Gold Panda - Time Eater (Fort Romeau remix)
Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene 3
Overlooked this a couple of weeks ago – a third instalment of a childhood favourite released a whopping 40 years ago. The second album was pretty forgettable but on Oxygene 3 you can hear a strong echo of the first album not least because Jarre's using lashings of Mellotron and monophonic synths although there are occasional and less successful attempts to get down with the kids.

This week's selection is by Michael Moloney, aka llamalpaca from the vinyl-only record and design store, Chameleon, with additions by The Landlord.
