Powerful, passionate highly accomplished fourth indie-rock album by singer/songwriter Louisa Roach and band from Wirral in Merseyside, one broadening her musical scope and perspective, not just socio-political and soul-searching personal, but also spanning eons, fuelled by some personal heartbreak and experiences that dark night of the soul. It fires off with the excellent title track and former Song of the Day, one of a timeless perspective on evolution and humanity, with the strikingly powerful sound and delivery of lines “I was there at the birth of infinity/ Subatomic particles, dark matter couldn’t limit me / Blessed at the dawn of space, time and symmetry / Destined to be formed in the belly of divinity.” Mixing psychedelic rock, indie, shimmering synth pop and balladry, there’s a diversity of styles but all linked by Roach’s articulate intensity, with parallels in style with Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Billy Nomates. Other standouts include Mirrors, the flute-infused Shine On, Washed In Blue, and Nothing Lasts. Submarine Cat Records
