Crisp, staccato, spiky guitar, taut rhythms, wry, humorous lyrics and an energetic, playful delivery typify this and other songs from the Dublin indie five-piece’s forthcoming album, Fad, out in July. Influences include The Strokes, but there’s a distinct art punk, post punk style, with parallels ranging from The Fire Engines to Franz Ferdinand, and of course, their contemporary Dubliners, Fontaines D.C.
The band comprises vocalist/guitarist brothers Daniel and Kilian O’Kelly, Emma Hanlon (bass/vocals), Peadar Kearney (guitar) and drummer Gary Wickham. More of their work, including new single, Dunkirk, can be enjoyed on Bandcamp.
