This entrancing new song of interweaving melodies and shuffling rhythm by the London electronic artist was inspired by her discovering a collection of love letters that her mother wrote to her father around the time that they first got together. Alice adds: “My mother passed away when I was in my teens and these letters gave me a real insight into who she was as a person, her in love giddiness jumping off the page. Sadly I’m still yet to find the replies from my father.”
The song is taken from her forthcoming second album Hexentanzplatz, out on Happy Robots. Alice Hubble is in fact Alice Hubley, self-desribed as a lady at home with a large collection of synthesizers. Her first, much admired first album is Polarlichter. To enjoy both, listen and buy and more, visit the Happy Robots Bandcamp page, and more of Alice’s work can be found in the Spotify embed below.
