A distorted buzz, a belting relentless beat, a strikingly assertive, ironic drawl of a talky Mark E Smith-style post-punk vocal and dizzy guitar strokes, this new number by the Dublin band (formerly formerly Girl Band) smashes out its presence and heralds the upcoming third album Most Normal, but there’s nothing normal about it. Vocalist vocalist Dara Kiely reels off a series of oddball images, playing on the idea of losing his mind, including the line, “inevitable depression when I do nothing”.
