Beautifully fluid, rippling electro-folk-pop with a tragic twist and echoes of Tunng by the London-based duo of James Green and Peter Darlington, taken from their forthcoming EP Silhouettes, out on Practise Music. The pair previously played in the band Spring King from Macclesfield. The EP is also embedded below and is available alongside previous material via their Bandcamp page.
Another shift to realise
Obscured in bright futures
Sat up straight In your bed
Hands held out
I thought of you
For the first time in a while
I wonder if you saw
Your son crying in the car
Go tell it on the mountain
Or the rooftops just below
Of your past lives
And the sins that you commit
Don't carry it with you
For the ceiling you will hit
For the fruit you bit
I was crushed by the grief
A crow had landed at my feet
Jean died a week ago
And life moved on
I haven't cried yet
That carpark by the school
Let’s burn it to the ground.
