Mellower on first listen than much their previous work, an intriguingly original dynamic exploration into the subconscious with an experimental prog element by the Brighton post-punk band, taken from their forthcoming new album O Monolith, out on Warp Records. The songs was inspired by singer and drummer Ollie Judge having a dream which involved floating inside painting from Jean-Honoré Fragonard - The Swing (1767), also shown below. The video directed by Yoonha Park to accompany the single is also mixing scenes and people from different contexts, including the band, in a dream-like sequence onto a gym court playing with ideas from Where’s Waldo, books by illustrator Richard Scarry, and the busy, people paintings by Brueghel. The wires in the stream
From rubble to my dream
I worry in my sleep
Rococo curves, you soothe me
To live inside the frame
And forget everything
A swing inside a dream
And all they'll do is scream
Come back to float away
A few more inches of rain
I worry in my sleep
Rococo curves, don't leave me
To live inside the frame
And forget everything
A swing inside a dream
And all they'll do is scream
To live inside the frame
And forget everything
A swing inside a dream
And all they'll do is scream
To live inside the frame
And forget everything
A swing inside a dream
And all they'll do is scream
To live inside the frame
And forget everything
A swing inside a dream
And all they'll do is scream
We're waking up
To straight lines
We float away
Bye, bye
We're waking up
To straight lines
We float away
Bye, bye
Waking up
Waking up
Waking up
Waking up
