The second album from the British punk rock / hip-hop duo takes many uncompromising and catchily powerful pops at many aspects of broken scratchcard Britain, taking aim at cost of living, inequality, Tory and other corruption, and even the fast food industry. Ripe with energy and provocation, no one, not even the dead are safe - including Elvis, Churchill, Thatcher and the Queen, especially on rave mashup Take That, while Health Is Wealth, a previous Song of the Day, has a tasty Jamaican vibe, and is a clever recipe for a better non-burger consumer lifestyle . Other standouts include He Sold Guns, the angry invective of Pretty Songs with its false start, Turn off the Radio, GDP, or the ferociously punk Drug War and closer Whatchugonnado?, in which the combination of heavy fuzz rock guitar with slicks rapping hits the mark. Bob Vylan feel like British Rage Against the Machine, and while not quite at that level, they certainly have their moments.
