Sweden’s Karin Dreijer returns with her first Fever Ray LP since 2017’s Plunge, this third packed with rich, eerie, complex, multifarious songs about the bewilderment of love. Otherworldly electro-pop synth sounds that rise and fall like whale calls, heavy arrhythmic drums, thrumming bass, Karin’s ghostly voice, together all makes for a beautifully disturbing cocktail. Standouts include Even It Out, with a video inspired by Divine's portrayal of Dawn Davenport in John Waters’ cult classic movie Female Trouble, Shiver, What They Call Us, Kandy, Carbon Dioxide, and Looking For Ghost. A unique artist, this is just as extraordinary as her 2009 self-titled debut. Out on Rabid Records/PIAS.
