After various adventures in music for film and TV and a series of EPs, the American singer-songwriter returns with her first solo LP in a decade (and fourth overall), a beautifully delicate collection of indie-folk-pop about of self-reflection, love, loss, redemption and bittersweet honesty. After 2012’s self-released An Unwavering Band of Light, she makes her debut on the Yep Roc label with an album produced by Josh Kaufman. Her voice sounds effortless, and there’s a lushness to the arrangements alongside the minimalistic feel of piano and acoustic guitar. Highlights include the gentle title track opener, It’s Later Than You Think, the gorgeous Everglades, the gentle beat accompanied Knife Went In, Goldenrod, and Now Comes The Mystery. A class act who paces her songs with delicacy, consummate maturity and tear-jerking emotion. Out on Yep Roc.
