Gorgeously delicate, serene, thoughtful, intimate acoustic folk by the ethereal, breathy-voiced New York singer-songwriter, her third studio album and first for six years capturing a variety of moods and emotions across times of isolation and change. Some track come with a ambient electronica, such Conversation is a Flowstate, or the lush Summer Glass with gentle beats, but most songs, such the the title track Moonless, Lightning Comes Up From The Ground, or the slow piano chords of Death Is The Diamond (“you make me feel like the prom queen I never was”) generate a powerful stillness that at times has echoes of Lana Del Rey. A thing of beauty that slowly and surely takes flight. Out on Ghostly International.
