A warmly comforting, toe-tapping, reflective, engaging Americana follow-up to 2021’s acclaimed debut Pohorylle album by the California-raised singer-songwriter, packed with stories and vivid images. Joined again by producer-drummer Sera Cahoone, the formula remains, accompaniment, sometimes just acoustic guitar and simply drums and bass, but sometimes also with fiddle, accordion, piano drums and pedal steel. Mid-70s Dylan-esque at times, this is an authentic, feelgood record, seamlessly flowing filled with genuine feeling an poetic lyrics. Standouts include the perky, picturesque tour-of-the-States number I Remember Carolina, the quieter, gentler, Beggar For Your Love, opener Lowland Trail, the stirring Sound and Fury, the honky tonk piano and zydeco-style, upbeat Steelhead Trout, or closer All Tied Together. Out on Loose Music.
