Smooth, finely crafted, lyrically thoughtful fusions of funk, pop, bossa nova, blues, jazz and rock with a cleverly summer, lazy understated feel in this full debut LP by the 27-year-old singer-songwriter from south London and Brighton. His influences are broad, ranging from Bill Withers to Graham Coxon, Donny Hathaway to Jimi Hendrix. Standout tracks include No Love (Mr Shady), Will You Ever Be So Good As You Think You Are?, Better Late Than Never, the title, track but most of call the sublime Butterfly. Out on Virgin.
